How to Ban or Unban Users from Mumble

The following ban and unban tutorials will assume that you are already connected to the Mumble server with the proper access to create or edit channels. If you need assistance creating and connecting to the Mumble server as an admin, please view the How to add a user to the Admin group tutorial.

Banning a User From a Mumble Server

  1. Right click the user you would like to ban and select Ban from the drop down menu.

  2. Enter the reason in the box that is provided and press the OK button.

If the user tries to reconnect "Server connection failed: The remote host closed the connection" will be displayed inside their mumble client.

Unbanning a User From a Mumble Server

  1. Click on Server on top menu and select Ban Lists.

  2. Select the IP you wish to unban from the left hand side and verify that the User name in the information on the right matches the username you wish to unban.

  3. With the IP address highlighted click on the Remove button.

  4. Click the OK button on the bottom of the Edit Bans window.

The user should now be able to reconnect to your Mumble server.

How to Set an End Date for a Banned User

  1. Click on Server on top menu and select Ban Lists.

  2. Select the IP you wish to set and end date to the users ban.

  3. On the right hand side click the drop down arrow for the End date box.

  4. Select a date that is at least 24 hours after when the user was initially banned.

  5. Click the Update button.

  6. Click the OK button on the bottom of the Edit Bans window.
