1Logging in as the Server Administrator

Ignore this section if you are already logged in as an administrator.

1. Right-click anywhere in the white space inside the Ventrilo Client, go to Server Admin, and click Login – This will bring up the Enter Admin Password menu.
2. Enter your server's Admin Password and click OK.
3. You will now be logged in as an administrator on your server, which will be denoted by a capital “A” next to your server's name in the upper-left corner of the server.

If the password was entered incorrectly you will automatically be kicked from the server, and receive an error message informing you as such. In this situation simply reconnect to the server, repeat the process, and ensure that the password is entered without any typos.

2Adding Phantoms

Phantoms are used to listen to channels that you are not currently in. By placing a phantom in a channel you can then listen to conversations in that channel while you are elsewhere on the server.

Right-click the channel you would like to add a phantom to, go to Miscellaneous, and click Add/Remove phantom – You will see a copy of your username with a “P” before it appear in that channel indicating that you have added a phantom.

* Please note that each phantom takes up a slot on your server, so if you have a 10 user server, and are connected with 4 phantoms created, only 5 other users will be able to connect. Also, all other users will be able to see your phantoms. There is no way to make yourself or your phantoms invisible in Ventrilo.

Congratulations! You have successfully added a phantom to a channel on your server. Repeat this process to add additional phantoms to other channels.

3Removing Phantoms

Right-click the channel you would like to remove a phantom from, go to Miscellaneous, and click Add/Remove phantom – You will see your phantom removed from that channel.

Congratulations! You have successfully removed a phantom from your server. Repeat this process to remove your phantoms from other channels.
