Logging in as the Server Administrator
Ignore this section if you are already logged in as an administrator.
Right-click anywhere in the white space inside the Ventrilo Client, go to Server Admin, and click Login – This will bring up the Enter Admin Password menu.
Enter your server's Admin Password and click OK.
You will now be logged in as an administrator on your server, which will be denoted by a capital “A” next to your server's name in the upper-left corner of the server.
If the password was entered incorrectly you will automatically be kicked from the server, and receive an error message informing you as such. In this situation simply reconnect to the server, repeat the process, and ensure that the password is entered without any typos.
Viewing the MOTD
When you connect to the server the MOTD will automatically be displayed as a pop up.
If you would like to view the MOTD only if it has been changed or updated, then click the box in the lower-left corner of the MOTD menu.
Creating/Editing the MOTD
Right-click anywhere in the Ventrilo white space, go to Server Admin, and click MOTD – This will open the Message of the Day menu.
If the space is blank, then type in the desired message and click Send.
If a message already exists, then remove it and enter a new one. Click Send when finished.
To check that the new MOTD is displaying properly, disconnect and then reconnect to the server. The new message should appear upon reconnection to the server.
Congratulations! You have successfully created a new Message of the Day.
