Channels are used to logically divide conversations among different groups of users connected to your Ventrilo server. The Message of the Day (MOTD) is the notification that appears after connecting to a Ventrilo server. The MOTD is often used to display news and announcements to users who connect to your server. Ranks can be used to prevent certain users from talking inside a channel. Users who do not have a high enough rank cannot transmit while others that do can.
