Logging in as the Server Administrator
Ignore this section if you are already logged in as an administrator.
Right-click anywhere in the white space inside the Ventrilo Client, go to Server Admin, and click Login – This will bring up the Enter Admin Password menu.
Enter your server's Admin Password and click OK.
You will now be logged in as an administrator on your server, which will be denoted by a capital “A” next to your server's name in the upper-left corner of the server.
If the password was entered incorrectly you will automatically be kicked from the server, and receive an error message informing you as such. In this situation simply reconnect to the server, repeat the process, and ensure that the password is entered without any typos.
Setting Up Administrative User Profiles
Right-click anywhere in the white space inside the Ventrilo Client, go to Server Admin, and click User Editor.
Click the New button at the bottom of the User Editor, and enter the person's username in the Login name box.
You must type their name exactly as it appears when they connect to the server (including numbers, spacing, and punctuation).
In the Password box you will need to assign the profile a unique password.
This will be the password that that user will use to connect to the server from now on. Their user profile password will be used in place of the Global Password, if one exists.
Open the Profiles drop-down menu at the very top of the User Editor, select Generic Admin, and click Load.
Go to the Admin Tab, and make sure that the “Server Admin” box is checked. This is option must always be checked if the user is receiving admin privileges. Once “Server Admin” has been checked you can pick and choose from the remaining admin abilities (or select them all).
Once you are satisfied with the setup of the profile, click the Add button at the bottom of the User Editor.
You have successfully created an administrative user profile. Please make sure this user disconnects from the Ventrilo Server and then reconnects with the username and password assigned to them. Repeat this process to create additional profiles.
